Concerts at CCRMA feature new and recent computer music by graduate students, faculty, and guests. Classic works and recent music from other studios and composers are also occasionally programmed. Colloquia and concerts are announced via a mailing list.

    Acclaimed violinist Mari Kimura visits CCRMA with a program of interactive computer music featuring the Augmented Violin (IRCAM). At the forefront of violinists who are extending the technical and expressive capabilities of the instrument, Kimura has opened up new sonic worlds for the violin.

Lewis will be joined by visiting Tinker Professor Roberto Morales on piano. George Lewis is the Edwin H. Case Professor of American Music at Columbia University.

  • Music of Azerbaijan: the Azeri Masters of Mugham

    The San Francisco World Music Festival and Stanford University presents a FREE Concert of the Music of Azerbaijan: a live performance by Azeri Masters of Mugham
     
    A musical introduction to the microtonal and improvisational tradition of classical Azeri Mugham, this noon concert features three great Azeri Masters, who will perform at the San Francisco World Music Festival this November.  They take you through a musical tour of Azerbaijani music including repertoire from folk traditions, classical compositions, and the art music mugham.
