Guest Lecture Dai Weiyi : The Construction of "Audio Visual Field" in Multimedia Music Theater.
The lecture will center on the concept of “audio visual field” to describe structural thinking and use of the audio-visual elements in the multimedia music theater.
Bio: Dai Weiyi is both a Chenguang Scholar and a Ph.D Candidate. He serves as lecturer in the College of Digital Media& Art of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He got his master degree in 2007. In 2012, he enrolled as doctoral candidate of composition under the supervision of Prof. Yang Liqing and Prof. Xu Shuya. During studying and teaching, he especially focused on the combination between music and other forms of media.
Yu Yang: Multimedia Symphonic Theatre: A Pursuit of a Dream about the Silk Road
The project created by a team from Shanghai Conservatory of Musc is an artistic innovation, combining organically classical symphonic tradition and contemporary multimedia art, ethnic and folk art of China and contemporary musical aesthetics.
Bio: Yu Yang, professor of Shanghai conservatory of music, is a Chinese composer. His compositions include art song, solo instrumental, chamber and electronic music, symphonies, concertos, as well as religious, commercial, cinema, and pop music. He has been performed by many major Chinese and American orchestras in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, Oakland, Santa Clara, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Taiwan.

Bio: Prof. Zhao Guang, Composer, Ph.D. Representative of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, Ph.D. Supervisor, Dean of Department of Drama,Shanghai Conservatory of Music,Director of Teaching Professionals Committee China Society for Musical Studies,Council Member of Shanghai Musicians Association.Awards &Performances: Ode to the EXPO, the Shanghai EXOP theme song got the 2010 Shanghai literary & artistic production spedial award by the publicity ministry of Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPC; and the 2012 national “five-one project” award, etc.
