The Living Earth Show
In something of an impromptu performance (one might say quasi-promptu) - The Living Earth Show presents a concert of recent percussion and electric guitar works.
Program:
Brian Ferneyhough: Renvoi/Shards
Ken Ueno: Pork Roll, Egg, & Cheese on a Kaiser Bun
Samuel Adams: Tension Study 1
Christopher Cerrone: Double Happiness
Timo Andres: You broke it, you bought it
Nicole Lizée: Family Sing-A-Long And Game Night
All of these works were written for The Living Earth Show except Renvoi/Shards (but the ensemble is the only one in North America to have performed it).

Called “outstanding” by the San Francisco Chronicle, “a vanguard effort of new chamber music” by the San Francisco Examiner, “transcendent” by the Charleston City Paper, and “a fully distorted perpetual motion of awesome” by I Care If You Listen, The Living Earth Show is a megaphone and canvas for some of the world’s most progressive artists, challenging them to realize their most ambitious creative visions. Memorizing every work it performs, The Living Earth Show thrives on pushing the boundaries of technical and artistic possibility. The ensemble has commissioned and premiered works by such diverse composers as Raven Chacon, Anna Meredith, Sahba Aminikia, Jacob Cooper, Luciano Chessa, M. Lamar, Ted Hearne, and Zachary James Watkins. Many of these commissions can be found on the group’s critically acclaimed albums High Art (innova, 2013) and Dance Music (New Amsterdam Records, 2016).
Upcoming productions include a new song cycle by Ted Hearne, an opera with Kronos Quartet and Youth Speaks, M. Lamar’s song cycle Lordship and Bondage: The Birth of the Negro Superman, Dennis Aman’s evening-length work for invented instruments 24 Preludes and Fugues, Raven Chacon's new opera At The Point Where The Rivers Crossed, We Drew Our Knives, the collaborative performance project AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, and a new evening-length collaboration with Post:Ballet and composers including Samuel Adams, Andrew Norman, and Daniel Wohl, and an opera composed for the ensemble by Aleksandra Vrebalov.
When not performing as The Living Earth Show, Andy and Travis also comprise 2/3 of the rhythm section of C O /\/\ /\/\ /\ /\/ D O, a musical juggernaut dedicated to dismantling heteropatriarchy through militant, violently queer rap metal.
