The Seaboard is a radically new musical instrument that reimagines the piano keyboard as a soft, continuous surface. Realising this powerful concept as a refined product has resulted in bringing together years of innovation on several fronts. The Seaboard’s polyphonic pitch bend, vibrato and per-note dynamic changes are all available at the player's fingertips, marrying the intuitiveness of a traditional instrument with the versatility of digital technology.


Roland Lamb is the founder and CEO of ROLI, a design-led technology start-up. With a background in jazz piano, and a degree in Classical Chinese and Sanskrit Philosophy, he invented the award-winning Seaboard while studying for an MA in Product Design at the Royal College of Art.
