Woodrow Quinn Herman

I've played guitar for almost 12 years, and have played in a band with friends from NYC for nearly 4 years. As someone who is from New York City and who attended college in New Orleans at Tulane University, watching live performances of music has been somehing I have enjoyed for a very long time. My goal in life is to create devices, effects, plug-ins, stompboxes, and anything in between that can help people wring the very last ounce of expression from their instruments. To acheive that goal I have several academic interests including audio DSP, programming audio effects, analog circuit modeling, and garage style analog electronics (although hopefully in my time at Stanford we'll turn that into a more professional understanding). In my free time I usually enjoy getting as far away from the computer as possible. I love hiking, rock climbing, playing soccer and just generally enjoying the world away from the screen.
