We will install our HOLI-GRAIL (Holistic - Giant Radial Array for Immersive Listening) 25.7 full surround speaker system in the Bing Concert Hall Studio Space.

Night 1: Wednesday May 20th - Students on Music222 ("Sound in Space") will present new works and short studies composed this quarter... and some other surprises (featuring Joel Chapman, Gina Wu, Ivan Naranjo, Shu Yu Lin, Dan Peterson (DXARTS), Alison Rush, Zhengshan Shi & Prof Jia Li, Byron Walker).

Night 2: Thursday May 21st - A double bill featuring the music of Åke Parmerud and Juan Pampin both masters of ambisonics and multichannel composition (plus a new bonus piece by Fernando Lopez-Lezcano)

Åke Parmerud and Juan Pampin visits and lectures are supported by generous funding from Ben and A. Jess Shenson Funds at Stanford University.

Note: it only took us 4 years to come up with a name for the speaker system... thanks to CCRMA student Alison Rush for the dubbing!
