Please join us in the lobby for the inauguration of the CCRMA WAVE: Wall for AudioVisual Expression. In this space we will showcase audiovisual works by in-house and external artists. The first featured artist is our own Barbara Nerness, who is presenting her interactive installation Doublevision. The reception will take place on Wednesday, January 9th at 5:30pm in lieu of the Colloquium. Barbara will talk about her work and we will have wine and cheese. The installation will run until January 27th.
Doublevision is a video installation that turns audio and movement into visuals. The visuals are created using only audio signals by exploiting old CRT television technology. The work aims to remove the boundary between audio and video as physical media, and highlight the perceptual distinction. Ambient sounds and movements affect the visuals in real time, hence the name Doublevision.
