Course Description:
The Intermedia Lab is a space to develop projects bridging sound with other media through technology. Projects may involve instrument design, physical computing, audiovisual interaction, immersive audio engaging with acoustic environments, and/or other intermedial projects that engage listening in tandem with other senses. Students will be encouraged to develop creative projects using resources at CCRMA such as those of the Max Lab, the Listening Room, and the Stage. Lab sessions will focus on skill-sharing, consideration of mapping strategies, critique sessions and problem-solving related to projects, contextualized by discussions of readings. It will feature guest-workshops and open studio project presentations.
