Exit Variations

2008

This very short piece was one of several commisioned pieces to open the ICMC2008 Concerts. Due to legal requirements an announcement has to be broadcast before the beginning of each concert (location of exits, etc), and the organizers chose to use commisioned pieces that had to use as sole material a recording of the announcement. My contributed piece used analysis and resynthesis techniques to mix the original spoken text with various other voices (including small kids) that would echo and augment the message.
