Abstract:
This document discusses some topics important to the understanding of the
production, analysis, and modeling of human speech. Topics presented include
the anatomy of the vocal tract, methods of describing speech sounds, the
analysis and synthesis of vowel sounds, and the synthesis of vowel sounds using
the CCRMA Common Lisp Music (CLM) package and the CCRMA Synthesis Tool Kit
(STK).
