Computer Music Scholarship - Formalized Score Control with Abjad
Summer workshop opportunity to study score control using Abjad and Python
GOAL:
Promote the engagement of underrepresented people in the field of electronic and computer music.
HOW IT WORKS:
Anyone who is part of a group that is underrepresented in computer music who wish to apply will be given a full tuition scholarship to the Formalized Score Control workshop. A certificate will be given to each participant upon successful completion of the workshop.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
The Formalized Score Control workshop introduces the Python programming language and the Abjad API for Formalized Score Control as part of compositional practice. The course introduces Abjad's object-oriented approach to music notation and algorithmic composition through real-world examples and hands-on coding activities.
ABOUT CCRMA:
The Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA, pronounced 'karma') is an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary facility where composers and researchers work together using computer-based technology both as an artistic medium and as a research tool.
HOW TO APPLY:
All people in underrepresented groups who are enthusiastic about music and computer science are invited to apply. No previous background in computer music is required.

Recipients will receive a response about a week after the deadline.
