Simplest Frequency-Dependent Loss

Recall that the two-point average used in the Karplus-Strong algorithm can be interpreted as the simplest possible frequency-dependent loss filter for the otherwise ideal vibrating string:

$\displaystyle H_l(z) = \frac{1+z^{-1}}{2}
$
