Binary Connection Tree Series Adaptor

Suppose we wish to make a series reflection-free connection of adaptors $ B$ and $ C$ using a new three-port series adaptor $ A$ , as shown in Fig.F.9. We make the top port of adaptor $ A$ reflection free by matching its wave impedance $ R_A$ to the series combination of all other connected adaptors, i.e., $ R_A=R_B+R_C$ in this case. We mark the top port of $ A$ as being reflection-free using the `$ \perp$ ' symbol.
