Problem 2: Suppressing partial errors

• Due to the linear parameter model we expect error to remain spectrally close to a model partial.

• Due to low pass character of natural signals the algorithm tends to insert further partials to model this error.

• Additional partials are physically non reasonable.

• Due to psycho acoustic properties the improvement is not perceivable $\Rightarrow$ Waste of resources.

Solution: Masking of error spectrum.
