ACADEMICS:

From 1999-2003 I studied at UC Berkeley finishing with a BS degree in EECS. Since 2003, I have been a PhD candidate in the Computer Science Dept. at Stanford University. My interests range from applications of probabilistic reasoning to signal processing. Since joining CCRMA, the scope of my work has expanded from physical modeling to performance parameter estimation. The focus of my thesis work is around the gypsy guitar.

ABOUT ME
MUSIC:

I regularly play in jazz combos at Stanford University, and play in a gypsy jazz trio in the San Jose area.

In years past, I played in a Beatles cover-band as John Lennon.

My current passion is gypsy jazz, though I have loved and continue to love blues, rock and bebop.

My heroes span from Jimi Hendrix to Django Reinhardt. Hands-down, the best guitar player in the world today is Bireli Lagrene. His technique, melodic sensibilities and humor surpass all.
