Performance of Instantânea for prepared piano and live electronics from Bruno Ruviaro in the First Mondays Series.
I commissioned this piece from Bruno in 2005, when I played it in multiple occasions in Brazil. The piece contains two movements (or short pieces): the first concentrates on sounds less commonly associated with the piano. The piano is prepared and the live electronics is very present. On the second movement, the traditional timbre of the piano is revealed with the decay of the processes of the live-electronic sounds. The piece also reveals, at this moment, notes that are not prepared.
