Hw 3 - Scoop?

Final

The first thing I wanted to do was make my drums sound more organic by adding some randomness to the gains. Then, I decided to make my samples more interesting by doing some very lazy "granular." All I did was shorten the duration and add an envelope to prevent clipping. I then assigned a different random range on the duration of the grains. To reinforce the "scoop?" theme I added a pitched-up and high passed series of scoops during the breakdown section. I also added a panned whispering sound cause I wanted to get the "s" sound of a whisper.

Milestone

I started by recording a simple bassline and percussion loosely inspired by Paco De Lucia's Entre dos Augas. This serves as the foundation of the music. Then I used keyboard input to toggle a section with a fast kick drum and a low synth bass. Finally, I recording myself saying "Scoop" at different pitches and assigned these to 4 keys on the keyboard. I feel alright about where I am with the technical aspects of my program, but for the final project, I want to add more variety to my compostion and do something more interesting with the "scoop" samples.
