ABOUT

Experimental musician Spencer Salazar uses custom tablet software to construct rich worlds of sound and texture. As the creator of Auraglyph, a musical sketchpad for iPad, Salazar performs with this software exclusively, using it to dynamically construct his unique sonic visions. Salazar created Auraglyph during his PhD research at Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). Salazar's improvisations within Auraglyph are projected live as he performs, creating an active audiovisual experience. Salazar's relentless drive to explore new ideas in music using technology has led him to performances in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Mexico, Colombia, China, and Korea, from large concert halls to intimate art spaces.
