Spidualizer

The spidualizer is a spider themed visualizer where the webs show the spectrum of the input audio. Each web is updated iteratively one after the other to show the spectrum history for 10 frames. If you rotate the web about the x axis, you can see the waveform by the movement of the webs in the z direction. There is a little spider in the middle of the web.

The spidulizer will play its sonic narrative and the camera will go through a series of movements. Press the spacebar to pause the camera movements. Once you have paused the visualizer you can use the up and down keys to rotate along the X axis. You can also press the period button to reset the camera to the center of the screen. You can press the spacebar again to resume the pre-planned camera movements.

Chuck Code

I struggled a bit in this assignment with having a lot of different ideas that I wasn't sure how to translate into my project in Chugl. I also wasn't always sure which of my ideas to prioritize or which would be likely to work out or be translated effectively. I also struggled with some performance issues. But I did find it cool to see my ideas come to fruition and have some things that didn't operate as intended be interesting and give me more inspiration. A very special thank you to Kunwoo and Andrew for helping me throughout this project :)

I found it fun to think of the different possible ideas of things I could make. Though I was a bit intimidated by the idea of translating those ideas into chugl. When I first started playing around with chugl, it went better than I expected and was able to get a basic visualizer relatively quickly by using different examples. However, I now feel like there are a lot of different tweaks and directions I could go in to polish things and it is a bit intimidating to decide how to proceed or what elements to focus on.
