TCP or UDP or ??

IP is by design a simple, connectionless protocol that knows all about routing messages to different hosts on the internet
IP implements no delivery guarantee, time of arrival guarantee, in order delivery guarantee or delivery notification
To be usable in applications we must build more useful functionality on top of it
Two common ones relevant to Audio and most internet applications are UDP and TCP
