MUSIC 220a Homework 5: The Day of Madness

About

"The Day of Madness" delves into depths of voice. An alternate name for the opera, The Marriage of Figaro, the name of this piece lends from the famous aria, "Voi Che Sapete". I am currently working on "Voi Che Sapete" for voice class, and thus decided to cover it here as the input instrument. FFT trackers implemented in chucK feed various instruments including Moog-like swept filter synths, formant filters recreating vocals and live samplers of the input voice itself.

The Rhythm sections take a voice input where I have attempted to sing the piece straight, according to the score. In the contrasting Free sections, I have sung in a free-flowing, more liberating style, more akin to pop vocals. Again in the Scored sections, I have taken liberties with the original score, by adapting the piece according to the score created by interpreting a nature recording (see below).

BinauralPan.ck - note that I was unable to complete the DBAP panning in time as the audio processing was running extremely slow and piecey. Instead I rendered it in stereo using Audacity.
