My Life : The Short Bio

Chronological Version

'77 : Brought into this wild wild world
'80 : Sent to Jurairat kindergarten, having a close friend called "Poop" Nisapol Nontasut. Hey, if you read this, drop me a line. It would be cool to get in touch once again.
'83 : Started grade one at Satit Chula Demonstration School. Got 100% and two stars in Thai (I'm obviously very proud). It all went down from there.
'85 : Started a career as a Thai reading contestant. Never came back home empty-handed in 10 competitions:) What's the use in my career anyway?
'88 : Football crazy. Started buying all Star Soccer magazines on the shelf. Kids can just spend money a lot on something so little
'89 : Picked up a trumpet. Got better and better until I realized I had it all wrong. It never got any better since and then I left school. No more trumpet.
'90 : West Germany won the world cup. So what? Because I was their supporter at the time
Made a gymnastic display stunt in the dark in a boy scout camp. Thinking about it now, it was embarrassing really.
Played drums in the class band for the first time. Became the regular from then on. Luckily, nobody in the class could play.
'91 : Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield and took the Championship. Heartbroken.
Picked up guitar and became a rock'n' roll star (no, absolutely not).
Also started listening to Western songs. First band, Europe then Bon Jovi. Still proud of them, seriously.
'92 : VFB Stuttgart took the Bundesliga in the last match, competing with Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt. I was ecstatic!!
'94-'95 : Last year in school. A lot did happen and one of the most fun years ever.
Got the only chance to sing and play guitar instead of drums for one song(Thanks mates!) in the annual concert.
Part of the new-wave alternative rock band in Thailand Razor. Well,...more likely you wouldn't have heard of it. However, we composed and played then released an EP for 1k copies. That was after being rejected from a few camps
'95 : Went to Charterhouse, Surrey, UK for A-level. Was in the House of Robinites. Great British school.
'95 :Razor(-me) became The Lollipop (intended to be The Lonely Pop though). Still, most likely, you never heard of it.
'97 : Went to Imperial College, London for M.Eng. degree. Started asking open questions and pondering a lot.
Having the best time playing football with the best mates, even though playing competitive matches during high school gave more excitement and passion.
'98 : Got involved in Samaggi Samagom, one of the most prestigious Thai organizations in the world (woo hoo!). It was a fun time.
'99 : Amazed by the power of statistic in signal processing, estimation and prediction.
'00 : Did a dissertation on "Blind Source Separation of Convolutive Mixtures" with Prof. Jonathon Chambers.
'01 : Sadly graduated from IC with a first class honour, heading for Stanford after a near-miss and a mess.
Start Stanford miserably in a PhD program with a hill to climb. Got better with the help of friends here knowingly and not-knowingly. Thank you!
'02 : Still at Stanford, trying hard to pass qual. Worked with Prof.Julias Smith
'03 : Managed to become a PhD candidate. Thanks to Prof.Julius Smith and the ICASSP paper. Life is still reeling on the same old perpetual tasks of surviving in the USA. Stanford THAIS won Invitational soccer tournament, a rare feast in its own right.
'04 : Life is obviously much better after qual. More work and more experience. I'm truly grateful to people who gave me opportunities. Though, Ph.D. is still a tough little acronym to earn.

Story-telling version

Life is a box of chocolate (more to come when I find time(Apparently, I can never find time (for this) after all these years. Don't know where it's gone to)).
