As speaking, my new project bike -- Ducati Progetto -- is finally being built by Jon Nichols and myself. The bike will include all of Nichols Manufacturing Performance parts: dual-sparkplugs, lightened gears, flywheel, clutch-basket, and brake-rotor, along with Nichols engine-bolts, crank-breather, rear-sets, high-compression pistons, etc. etc. It will be a half-naked beast (bellypan-fairing) with dual Piaa lights mounted below a bikini fairing (which I initially stole from my friend Jack's Monster), with only pipe-wrap around the frame-tubes as a seat (including an elegant passenger "seat") -- all to make the bike as light as possible. The rake is also modified to a steep 22 degrees, and additional frame gussets are welded to the steering head to make the ride more rigid. I also got a custom made triple-clamp CNC'ed from super strong 7050-aluminum. As on my old bike, it will have super high-swipe carbon pipes. It will be painted in Anthracite black with red/orange frame & wheels. The decals I've cut myself, and as you can see, I couldn't keep my hands off the Ducati logo either (hopefully all dull people will hate it). The pictures above are a Photoshop hack to give you an idea what's in the works.
