Newspaper Music: German Edition is a piano solo that is part of a series of MAX/MSP algorithmically composed compositions based on newspaper articles from around the world. The program takes a body of text and parses the sentences into separate tables. These tables are then used as parameters in which every letter, punctuation and symbol is given a unique meaning to created music. Since different languages have special characters that are indicative to that language certain sound gestures will only be found in that languages' composition. |
