Playing around with Chuck and finding out about all the possibilities,
I lost interest in working with only one sound sample. So I expanded my
sound pallet and let the singing lizard (from the previous milestone) disappear
in a zen garden that combines natural sounds with some minimal Japanese instruments.
The goal is to visualize a hide and seek game with the lizard in the darkness of a night.
The lizard finally appears or is found(!) at the end.
The audio files:
Milestone 1 - The western fence lizard sings cardinal
- Magical realism
- Mute animals
- Why should a lizard sing like a cardinal?
- Image and sound synchronization: distance, intensity, angle, texture, visualizing computer music
- The story of Knoll Building and Loma Prieta earthquake 1989:
Western fence lizard was an endangered species that saved the president's building from demolition after
the Loma Prieta earthquake and is why CCRMA is still using this building. In this video, a western fence
lizard comes to the building and claims it as its home, and takes over the residence of Stanford's presidents
Ray Lyman Wilbur.
