Mike Wilson's Blog

I was a MA/MST student at Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Accoustics.

This is my weblog.

It's 11/11/11, so it's probably time to do some big reveals /
releases.

First, a little bit about the reserach project that I've alluded to
previously. It's called Icons of Sound, and you can read about it
here: http://iconsofsound.stanford.edu/

The research studies the aesthetics and acoustics of Hagia Sophia,
Istanbul, Turkey. My part so far has been making tools and doing some
support and analysis on the acoustics side of things. I was also able
to do some live recording of singers. I am helping to plan the next
stage of the project, and will write about that once things are more
underway. In the meantime, please enjoy the website. There is a film
in the Aesthetics section that may be interesting to view. And please
let me know if you spot any errors in the website; I can fix them.

Second, one of the things I was able to do while at Yamaha was make a
Vocaloid database using my own voice. They also graciously gave me
permission to render 6AM with this database and post the result on my
website. So you will soon be able to find 6AM, Vocaloid version as
well as a karaoke version on my music page.

That's it for now; as always thank you for reading!
