I'm back at CCRMA, and just got to hear Gloria Cheng play John Cage's Water Music and Sonatas and Interludes for prepared piano. It was great! The prepared piano was especially interesting to me. By attaching screws, rubber stoppers and the like to the piano strings a great number of timbers were produced. Sounds ranging from normal piano sounds to gong sounds to metallic plucking noises. It was very interesting.
