CCRMA's Transitions concert was today. The pieces and installations were interesting. I still don't really "get" some of the more artistic pieces. I felt like some of them had departed from the realm of music. But they still carried emotional impact; does that mean they're still music? Something to think about. Maybe this is what people in previous generations felt when they listened to what today is considered mainstream. I also met a few of my fellow MA/MST students. There are eight of us [EDIT: actually there are seven and three co-terms [DOUBLE-EDIT: actually there are two co-terms]] in total, and at least two besides me took the PID workshop last year. It looks like we will have a good group.
