Reading Response: This is not a reading response

This is not a reading response

This week, this phrase
“Imbuing personality”
Where something moves away from
Just the natural reality

A pencil case is a zipper
And the zipper becomes the case
A phone is an ocarina
Its screen the interface

It is when out of nothing
Characteristics start to shine
A face? A meaning? a purpose?
Perhaps when all of them entwine?

See, there’s treachery in images
But also, in sounds and design
Is what we see and hear real?
Or is it unnecessary to confine?

Sometimes personality comes out
When a thing behaves not like it should
We stop thinking of what it does
And we think, instead, of what it could

When a thing has personality
The experience becomes more fun
We’re artfully designing aesthetics
Where there seems to require none
