HW2 - Fountain of Love

This visualizer lets you watch as the frequency spectrum and time domain of sound come together to be in love in real time. It starts slow... but then things get spicy.

Final Reflections

This visualizer truly stemmed from playing around in ChuGl and making choices about what I thought looked cool. I also took inspiration from someones comment about making the time and frequency domains interact with each other after Milestone 2 and that's what gave me the idea to do the heart. I honestly got lucky with getting the shape, it kinda emerged from random screwing around which I guess is cool. I'm not sure anything in this project really went as planned in terms of how much time I spent getting it to do what I wanted. I struggled with the narrative, getting the desired shape and feel. I really wanted a wha wha sound for the narrative so it would read as the well known song better but I just didn't have time. Overall I'm happy with the final project even though Im going to bed at 3:30 AM the night before It's due :) Lastly I want to thank Andrew for his help at OH, certainly saved me countless hours.

Milestone 2

Reflections

My main reflection is that I really had no idea what I was doing most of the time. Going to office hours was super helpful and Andrew helped me understand how my code was acutally working under the hood and gave me a much better understanding of how things actually work in ChuGl. I spent a ton of time trying to get the waveForm to "draw" itself out. I then spent a ton of time trying to figure out where I wanted to go with the project as I slowly realized my initial vision of having little snake-wave-form-things slithering across the screen at random may be a lot harder than I had hoped. What I've ended up with is a mix of watching the wave forms draw themselves out and a bunch of rotating things that I think looks cool. I am definitely looking forwrad to receiving feedback in class to maybe help me get a better sense of waht my end goal is.
