Since diatonic ear training is not the basis for perceiving music, audiences who have not previously perceived music in a rational way, might be more open to electro-acoustic sounds. This means that the cultural aspects of Colombian musical heritage might be applied directly to an art form, instead of adapting them to instrument and orchestrations of other latitudes. Contemporary music can be composed independently from the medium. Therefore a composer do not have to rely on an orchestra to express his creative works. The work can be done interactively by listening to the composition in an immediate way. This leaves the composer free on a direct two way relationship with the piece being created.
The music of today does not have to be created specifically for the concert hall. In relation with the other arts, the techniques of fine arts can be applied to sound in electro-acoustic music composition. Music can be seen from the scope other arts much easier since it has less abstract qualities than traditional common practice music. New forms like art-music, sound installations, performances, happenings, and dance can be created from electro-acoustic music as its basis because it can easily blend with the other electronic arts.
With the exchange of information, developments in other countries get spread relatively faster. Therefore there is a better communication of ideas among composers, theoreticians and researchers around the world. In addition pop technology is advertised and applied around the world in the same manner. This makes possible to communicate around the world with almost the same language.
For the newcomer, the electro-acoustic medium is more reachable than the orchestral medium because electro-acoustic music performed in Colombia is more feasible than traditional orchestral music. With the electronic infrastructure of the country compositions can be transferred to many formats, and consequently can be broadcast and distributed, among more individuals than those in a concert hall.
Since music in most Latin American countries continues to be a phenomenon or magic, It could be that electro-acoustic music be regarded shortly as an art form with no limits and borders. Thus, its aesthetic qualities will be inherent to its own principles and will depend only on those individuals who are working on this kind of music rather than a geographical location or cultural heritage.
