Augmenting synchronicity of audio and visuals in film - with an eye towards designing a compositional tool/interface for use by others. Use of color will parametrically dictate manipulation of effects; movement of visual objects will influence spatialization of audio.
I chose this clip from Vertigo because it uses color and space in really interesting, especially progressive (for its time) ways.
#1: Explainer Video, #2: Original clip, #3: Transformed clip
In the individual transformations, each sample is shown first without, then immediately with, the relevant manipulation.
Current color mapping includes the following FX, based on an "intuitive" mapping:
blue: low-passed echo..."underwater"
red: tremolo..."intensity"
green: "brightening/livening" EQ
Best results using headphones.
