Acoustic Modeling with Digital Delay

Delay effects, such as phasing, flanging, chorus, and artificial reverberation, provide an excellent starting point for the subject of digital waveguide modeling because both delay effects and digital waveguide models are built using modulated delay lines, simple digital filter sections, and sometimes nonlinear elements. It is beneficial to focus on these elements in the simpler context of delay effects before getting involved with sound synthesis using these elements.
