Holly Jachowski :: About Me

I am a junior at Stanford University studying Music, with a concentration in Music, Science, and Technology (MST). Since becoming an MST B.A. Candidate, I have really delved into exploring music, sound and image, and computer science inside and outside of the classroom. In my work as a student assistant at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), I have become acquainted with the electronics and setup of a recording studio and two smaller studios. In doing so, I also compiled instructional documentation to help new users learn how to run the latter two studios.

I love seeing how sound can shape an audience's reception of images, especially in animation. My recording projects have all been restricted to sound thus far, but I believe they have allowed me to develop useful skills for team production projects. As I continue to build my experience in recording, editing, and mixing, I strive to grow in the professional film world as well. I have gained research and task experience for the pre-production and post-release stages of documentary films. But as time goes on, I hope to learn about and contribute to other parts of the production process, particularly in post production. In the end, I hope to achieve a career in audio engineering and/or sound design in which I develop material for short films and feature films. Feel free to look around at some of my projects!
