For this assignment, I experimented with a variety of different LiSa examples and was most intrigued by LiSa-track5.ck. It took in a wav file and manipulated it using granular synthesis in interesting ways. I experimented with putting my own wav files through the code, and realized that musical files were more interesting than simple percussive sounds. I ended up putting my previous homework through the synth, and it sounded totally different. I experimented with different parameters to see what they did to the sound, and made some notes about my observations in the code, although I didn't write down everything. A lot of times I couldn't even figure out what the pattern was, because what the params did seemed to vary a lot based on what wav file I was using. I tried a vocal file of myself singing some pop-country and it sounded like an chipmunk being either brutally murdered or in the process of being possessed by a demon. I included both sound files on my website. I don't totally understand how the code I used works since we haven't actually had the lecture on granular synthesis yet, but it certianly sounds cool. I'm curious why it seems to undulate the way it does. I expected to see some kind of sine sweeping code in there but didn't.
