A voice-based tone looper for capturing and retainings musical thoughts
Record and Playback with fun visuals!
There are two main reasons that led me to create this project:
1) My wanting a view into real-time voice and speech digital signal processing
2) The lack of ability to transcribe or notate a musical idea without an instrument
The functionality of this tool is based on my real-time implementation of a cepstral pitch tracker, vocal-singing-based MIDI key corrections, and a quantization scheme based on BPM, meter and subdivision constants entered by the user.
This project is going to be a continuation of work. The visual integration is functional but I hope to make it more aesthetically pleasing. I also want to continue working on the synthetic tones generated to include relative gain according to the singer input as well as discrete-modifications based on vowel input.
