There's a bloop bloop sound in the last section which sounds like a synth, but is actually the result of putting an SM57 in the middle hole of a grand piano, running that (directly) through three Boss guitar pedals (delay, distortion and reverb), then to a classic Peavy guitar amp and mic'd with a condensor. The blooping and delay and subsequent synthy track was played (by me :) ) live to tape. The chanting is just a few of our friends overdubbed a few times. All the pianos are real grand piano.
A liscensing company loved but summarily rejected this track because they thought the vocals at the beginning of the track were sampled from a newscast. It took me a year to convince them that they were Tamara doing original poetry and I'd just told her to sound like a newscaster and telephoned the track. :)
