Background
World Blendz is an mixer that allows you to mixer songs from different regions of the world. Select 2 regions and mix the music from them using the effects programmed into the keyboard. Download, make, and have fun!

Motivation
World Blendz was inspired by an interest in DJing and a love of music from all around the world. I wanted to be able to introduce different sounds and genres from all around to world to people through one fun and engaging platform. World Blendz was just the way to do it. Using this remix deck, you can layer sounds from different parts of the world on top of one another creating new tunes. This is just the beginning of World Blendz. Watch out for new features coming soon!

Design
I started designing my mixer by considering what usually goes into a standard music mixer. I included rewinding/fast forwarding features, looping, fade in/out, pitch changes, and several other sound effects on my music mixer. My intention was to make the sound effects specific to each region but I decided against that approach in the end. I also wanted to add a visual component that is different from any other music mixer. Thus I came up with the map display, showing the real time history of the sound waveform through the movements of the pixels. My goal was to make the interface as clean and simple as possible. I stuck that general design aesthetic and am very happy with the result.

'z' - shift to track 1

'b/B' - dec/inc treble
'n/N' - dec/inc mid
'm/M' - dec/inc bass
'y' - sound effect 1
'u' - sound effect 2
'i' - sound effect 3
'o' - sound effect 4
'h' - fade out/in
'j' - slow down
'k' - pitch change
'l' - loop
'up arrow' - move view up
'down arrow' - move view down
'right arrow' - move view right
'left arrow' - move view left
'+' - zoom in
'-' - zoom out
's' - switch displays
'E' - enter/exit fullscreen
'q' - quit
