Audiovisual Practices
This workshop has been canceled; we are planning to offer it again in 2022.
Audiovisual Practices is a beginner level workshop designed for composers, performers, and sound artists interested in extending their sonic practice using visual elements. Over the course of five days, students will learn to utilize basic video editing software and Max/MSP/Jitter as a means of producing, controlling, and manipulating moving imagery in real-time. Art historical references featuring animation, video art, installation, and audiovisual performance will guide conceptual frameworks for class discussion and lectures, while challenging students to think differently about the possibilities of sharing time-based work within the constraints of social distancing. On July 23rd, students will share an audiovisual work (performance, installation, intervention, or other) via live streaming. No previous experience is required.
A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available for this workshop. APPLY HERE by July 11th.
