LOL/Agenda-2008-07

This is the first meeting of LOL.

Before the meeting

• please add yourself to the LOL Peoeple Page, potentially including
  • your name (or codename)
  • a brief bio (or URL to one)
  • thoughts/ideas about LOL

At the meeting

• introductions
• plans and ideas for LOL
  • the laptop orchestra aesthetic, motivations for LOL
  • creating long-term computer-mediated musical instruments for LOL
  • composing for LOL
  • performing with LOL
  • a possible time table and upcoming venues
• possible ChucK introduction/install session as related to laptop orchestra (there will an emphasis on open source audio software in LOL, and ChucK/PD/Ruby/etc. will be used as a platform for exchange of ideas and instrument prototyping). In general, all software welcome!
• brainstorming session
  • demos, including some SLOrk instruments
  • getting sense of feasible time commitments from members
  • initial volunteers for various roles/tasks
  • possible break-out session
• we'll likely depth-charge for one or more of the above (or on something else entirely)
• planing; we should leave the meeting with a clear agenda and timetable for the next LOL meetup!
