This talk will begin with an in-depth look at BasicPitch, the machine learning model from Spotify that powers NeuralNote. We will explore its internal workings and how it processes audio to generate MIDI data. Next, we will cover the integration of BasicPitch into the NeuralNote plugin, implemented in C++ using the JUCE framework. We will discuss the challenges of incorporating neural network inference in audio plugins, focusing on real-time processing, thread safety, and performance. A comparison of the ONNXRuntime and RTNeural libraries will highlight the options for neural network integration in this domain.</p><div class="field field-type-text field-field-event-cost"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> FREE </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-intended-audience"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Open to the Public </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/neuralnote-audio-midi-plugin-using-machine-learning" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Thu, 23 May 2024 22:58:02 +0000 jos 6727 at https://ccrma.stanford.edu Guillermo Galindo: Nexo Organico/Organic Nexus https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/guillermo-galindo-nexo-organicoorganic-nexus <div class="field field-type-date field-field-event-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Date:&nbsp;</div> <span class="date-display-single">Mon, 05/27/2024 - <span class="date-display-start">7:30pm</span><span class="date-display-separator"> - </span><span class="date-display-end">9:00pm</span></span> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-location"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Location:&nbsp;</div> CCRMA Stage / <a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/live">CCRMA LIVE</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-event-type"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Event Type:&nbsp;</div> Concert </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="200" height="151" alt="" src="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/sites/default/files/user/cobasica/gg-credit-zen-cohen-2048x1547.jpg?1711576234" /> </div> </div> </div> <div>CCRMA presents Guillermo Galindo performing live to a black and white post-apocalyptic animation film.</div> <div><strong><br /> Special Guest: William Winant</strong></div> <div><br /> FREE and Open to the Public &nbsp;| &nbsp;<a href="https://music.stanford.edu/venues-facilities/venues/ccrma-stage">In Person</a>&nbsp;+&nbsp;<a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/live">Livestream</a></div><p><a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/guillermo-galindo-nexo-organicoorganic-nexus" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Wed, 27 Mar 2024 21:54:47 +0000 cobasica 6688 at https://ccrma.stanford.edu Josh Mitchell: Master's Recital https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/josh-mitchell-masters-recital <div class="field field-type-date field-field-event-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Date:&nbsp;</div> <span class="date-display-single">Sun, 05/26/2024 - <span class="date-display-start">7:30pm</span><span class="date-display-separator"> - </span><span class="date-display-end">9:00pm</span></span> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-location"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Location:&nbsp;</div> CCRMA Stage </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-event-type"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Event Type:&nbsp;</div> Concert </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="200" height="122" alt="" src="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/sites/default/files/user/cobasica/poster.png?1716654734" /> </div> </div> </div> In the broader context of the English language, to bifurcate is simply to split into multiple parts or branches. In the specific context of nonlinear dynamics and chaos theory, however, a bifurcation is what happens when a very small, smooth shift in one parameter of a system causes it to abruptly change how it acts. Many interesting things can happen at these bifurcation points, including surprising and beautiful transitions between order and chaos. When presented in a musical context, these systems offer many creative ways to explore the many ways we encounter changes over time in the world around us.<br /> <br /> FREE and Open to the Public |&nbsp;<a href="https://music.stanford.edu/venues-facilities/venues/ccrma-stage">In Person</a>&nbsp;+&nbsp;<a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/live">Livestream</a><p><a href="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/josh-mitchell-masters-recital" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Sat, 25 May 2024 16:34:03 +0000 cobasica 6728 at https://ccrma.stanford.edu Sami Wurm: Master's Recital https://ccrma.stanford.edu/events/sami-wurm-masters-recital <div class="field field-type-date field-field-event-date"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Date:&nbsp;</div> <span class="date-display-single">Sat, 05/25/2024 - <span class="date-display-start">7:30pm</span><span class="date-display-separator"> - </span><span class="date-display-end">9:00pm</span></span> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-location"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Location:&nbsp;</div> <a href="https://music.stanford.edu/venues-facilities/venues/dinkelspiel-auditorium">Dinkelspiel Auditorium</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-event-type"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Event Type:&nbsp;</div> Concert </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="133" height="200" alt="" src="https://ccrma.stanford.edu/sites/default/files/user/cobasica/yellow_closeup_portrait_2.jpg?1716322231" /> </div> </div> </div> <div>Sami Wurm debuts master&rsquo;s capstone &mdash; her very first full-length album&mdash; Sunshine! But perhaps their most impressive accomplishment is to learn an *implicit* representation of a signal. Instead of just predicting a value, a DNN can learn the underlying function f(x) that generates the data. Given a position request (x) it returns the &ldquo;true&rdquo; value of the function, even for places it has not seen.<br /> <br /> This week at the CCRMA Hearing Seminar Senyuan Fan and Prof. Marina Bosi claim that these implicit methods require less training data and achieve higher compression rates than other approaches.
