Equipment

Your instructor should have assembled and calibrated a lab environment in accordance with the monochord assembly instructions [1] and the soundcard set-up instructions instructions [2]. In general, the lab requires the following equipment:

• monochord assembly, as described in the monochord assembly instructions.
• a calibrated PC sound system, as described in the soundcard set-up instructions.
• a computer running Pure-Data Extended (pdx), and
• a guitar slide or similar object.
