Flute Tracking with microphones

A flute position tracking technique to capture physical gestures while performing flute

Trial 1

  • A stick
  • 2 Panasonic Omni Mics
  • Electrical tape
Take a 26 inch stick and tape 2 microphones to the edges. Use the cross correlation peak of the stereo recording to track time delay and determine position.
The correlation tracking worked well for hissing noise but could not track a the flute sound well.
