Dr. Cobi van Tonder is an artist based in both Berlin and the UK; and currently Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the University of York, creating the Acoustic Atlas and researching compositional ideas based on heritage acoustic sites.  She explores ways of listening that focus on acoustics and virtual acoustics as essential compositional elements together with infrasound and resonance as audio physical 'expanded listening'.  Works include interactive musical experiences; network-connected live acoustic spaces, infrasound music, microtonal drone music that explores beating patterns, sonic illusions, and ridiculously many recursive layers of convolution reverb.
