Included here is a graduate thesis at the University of Oklahoma for a Doctor of Music degree entitled

"A Comparison of Two Methods of Arriving at the Most Suitable Thicknesses of Violin Plates," the

direct measurement method and the electronic tuning method (P79-). No definite conclusions are

arrived at based on player-listener tests of four violins tuned by each method and made by the author.

Much of the violin literature is reviewed and suggestions for further experimentation given.
