Internal Colloquium Thomas Rossing was a physics professor for 45 years. His research on magnetic resonance, spin waves, and fusion energy took him to national laboratories and universities in Australia, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, and Scotland. He joined CCRMA in 2005, and presently teaches musical acoustics. He is the author of more than 400 publications (including 17 books, 9 U.S. and 11 foreign patents), mainly in acoustics, solid state physics, magnetism, environmental noise control, and physics education. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Acoustical Society of America, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He served as President of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
