Concert Abbos Kosimov is a percussion virtuoso who is touring regularly with Zakir Hussain and has also performed with the Kronos Quartet. Abbos established his own school of doira playing in Uzbekistan and later taught at the Tashkent State Institute of Culture. In 2001, he was given the prestigious title of Honored Artist of Uzbekistan by the President of Uzbekistan.
Coming from a lineage of dutar players in his native region of northern Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Juraev is considered among the top masters of both the folk and classic tradition of shashmaqom. He comes from a lineage of dutar players in his native region of northern Tajikistan. He has performed in Carnegie Hall and the Louvre and is currently an artist-in-residence at Harvard University’s music department, where he is teaching dutar and tanbur performance.
