jTheta: music of Alvin Lucier

CCRMA's resident ensemble performs the music of Alvin Lucier, including works which explore the intersection of acoustical phenomena, minimalism, conceptual art, and improvisation. The program features Still and Moving Lines of Silence in Families of Hyperbolas, Quasimodo the Great Lover, Action Music for Piano, and Carbon Copies. Performers will include Gary Scavone, alto saxophone; Christopher Jones, piano; Jeff Walters, percussion; and Christopher Burns, electronics.

jTheta is an ensemble based at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), at Stanford University. Previous concert programs include an evening of music and theater works by John Cage, and performances of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Mikrophonie I.
