Nella mente di Pietro is based on novels and short stories by Niccolò Ammaniti, one of the most outstanding young Italian writers. The text of this musical work presents some islands of sound and significance, linked to certain images that emerge from Ammaniti's flowing river of things, faces, bodies, and places, but not precisely related to any of his works in particular.

As always in our productions, we have been fairly irreverent:Nella mente di Pietro is not a celebration, though Ammaniti is now a celebrated writer. Rather, its aim is that of a reflection, on what images may reflect, when they spring out from our minds: a reverie through images, sounds, and words.
