MUSIC32N
ASSIGNMENT 1

Due Sunday, Oct 2, by Midnight

1. Familiarize yourself with Mobirise (free download) or other website building application of your choice.

2. Create a home page (index.html) for your website at www.stanford.edu/~[your SUNet ID]

3. Create a sub-page, a home page for your Music32N projects. Once you create it (the name could be music32n.html), get it linked from your main web page.

4. Publish locally to your computer or on a thumb drive if you use a university computer. Upload the two files and Assets folder to your WWW folder on AFS Cardinal servers using tools available for Stanford students for free. You will be able to drag and drop files between your computer and the WWW folder. Stanford provides the software needed for this. It is available on the cluster computer or can be downloaded with your Stanford ID and password. SecureFX for Windows comes preconfigured. Just look for Cardinal folder structure. Fetch for Mac is easily configured (see instructions "Using Fetch to publish files to a personal web folder", which will tell you how to reach Cardinal servers). Verify that the page shows up and the link to the 32N page works. Remember to click reload in your browser to see the updated page after making changes. Older versions of the page are stored in the cache until you ask to reload them.

5. Here's a Reading to be discussed on Mon, October 3.
